If you were to write YOUR history of everything, would it include the election of Barack Obama or the rise of the alt-right? Birth control or gun control? The invention of the printing press or the invention of the Internet?
In "A History of Everything," the teens of Cry Havoc Theatre Company present their personal take on the cyclical nature of the world and the ongoing human struggle to find meaning in life.
Performances are at 8 p.m. on January 5, 6, 10, 11, 12 and 13; at 2 p.m. on January 7. Margo Jones Theatre inside The Magnolia Building (Please note: Friday, Jan. 5th is a preview performance, and Saturday, Jan. 6th is the press opening night performance.)

Some haters say Fair Park is just one big dinosaur of an attraction. We don't agree, but the Jurassic Quest exhibit coming to the park this month sure is one.

Activities include new and larger walking and animatronic dinosaur rides, fossil digs, a paleontology station, a science station, a cinema, dinosaur bounce houses, Dinosaur Jeopardy, and much more! Jan. 12-15 & 19-21. Automobile AND Centennial Buildings (to reduce overcrowding).

The Color Purple
DALLAS SUMMER MUSICALS WEAVES THE TALE OF "THE COLOR PURPLE"
First it was a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Now, "The Color Purple" is a searing, Tony Award-winning stage musical with a soulful score of jazz, gospel, ragtime and blues.
Still at the core of this gut-wrenching show is the story of a young woman's journey to love and triumph in the American South. It's the musical sensation that New York Magazine calls "one of the greatest revivals ever." January 23 - February 4. Music Hall at Fair Park.

Travel to the Tropics Festival
TIRED OF WINTER'S BLEAKNESS? BRIGHTEN UP YOUR LIFE AT THE TRAVEL TO THE TROPICS FESTIVAL
Even Dallas gets its share of days that are just variations on a shade of gray. But Fair Park has the perfect answer for those who want to shake off their deep-winter blahs.
The Travel to the Tropics Festival puts a spotlight on the mood-lifting colors found in many of the butterflies inside Texas Discovery Gardens. Crafts for the kids, and close-up encounters with butterflies, are part of this event exploring the tropical countries our winged friends come from. Saturday, January 27. 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Texas Discovery Gardens.
