BRACE YOURSELF, LACE YOURSELF FOR THE FAIR PARK URBAN DASH 5K
Trust us. The 5th Annual Fair Park Urban Dash 5K will be no . . . walk in the park.
There isn't any mud ... but there are 13 obstacles for you to leap over, clamber over or just run through. The course is suited for experienced runners and is designed for the whole family to have fun. Event takes place Saturday, June 17 at 8:00 a.m., with registration beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Texas Black Invitational Rodeo
SADDLE UP FOR THE 2017 TEXAS BLACK INVITATIONAL RODEO
Come marvel at some of the nation's top cowboys and cowgirls as they wrestle steers, ride wide bulls and more!
Proceeds from the event will benefit the African American Museum and its mission of research, presentation and preservation of visual art forms and historical documents that relate to the African American community. One of Juneteenth weekend's premier events, the rodeo takes place 7:00- 9:30 p.m., Saturday, June 17, at the African-American Museum in Fair Park.

Fair Park Sparks
On June 2, Friday night becomes family fun night! Come to Fair Park Sparks and enjoy a free showing of the Disney film, "Moana," on the WRR lawn. Listen to terrific riffs from Zandaga 813 Jazz on the Old Mill Inn's patio. Then, finish your Friday funfest with ... free fireworks! Admission is free. Parking is $5 per car. Concessions will be available for purchase.
Olympic Day Games for Kids
SHOW YOUR KIDS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE AN OLYMPIAN
Fair Park Olympic Day Games for Kids, June 21-23, will be an opportunity for local kids to learn skills, meet Olympians & Paralympians, visit museums, play in the Cotton Bowl, compete with teammates and have fun!
The event is open to 1st through 6th graders from the neighborhoods around Fair Park – e.g. Jubilee Park, MLK, Mill City, Dolphin Heights. And it is totally FREE with lunch included.

The Editorial Art of John Knott
For more than 50 years, John Knott worked for The Dallas Morning News. Over time, his flair as an illustrator became a mainstay of the newspaper's editorial page.
The Dallas Historical Society is pleased to present an exhibition of Knott's work, which encompassed every aspect of the public's interest, from the humorous to the social conscience of the state and nation.
The exhibit opens June 6 for a four-and-a-half-month run in the Hall of State.

In his June update, Daniel Huerta, the City of Dallas' Executive General Manager for Fair Park, talks about the change responsible for those shows coming to the Music Hall. He also welcomes the Dallas Summer Musicals' new president, Ken Novice.
