Those gondolas represent the Texas Skyway, which debuted in 2007. Similar to ski lift gondolas, the cars transport visitors 65 feet above the ground for a ride that stretches one-third of a mile.
The Skyway can carry 5,000 people an hour in eight-passenger gondolas that travel 600 feet per minute. The gondolas' design is Art Deco-inspired (in keeping with the architecture of Fair Park) and boasts a state-of-the-art safety system that ensures a safe, smooth ride.
Board the Texas Skyway next to Big Tex and travel it to the far end of The Midway – or vice versa! Either way, you'll enjoy a panoramic perspective of Fair Park.
