Tignon pronounced [tēyôN] in French means cloth or handkerchief and is used to reference the headwraps of Creole women. Tignon the exhibition will be on view at South Dallas Cultural Center, Sep. 1-Oct. 31.

Presented by Dallas-based artist Chesley Antoinette, fashion photographs and wearable sculptural turbans explore women of African descent in the 18th century.

This exhibition is free and open to the public. No RSVP is needed.
