Dallas Cabaret Festival

In conjunction with Fair Park Dallas, Denise Lee Onstage presents the Second Annual Dallas Cabaret Festival, Tuesday, July 27-29, 2017, at 7:30 p.m.

Opening this year's festival on July 27th, is the mesmerizing vocalist and former Raelette (Ray Charles Band) Cynthia Scott.

"Cynthia Scott is a master at lighting up a stage. Style, sophistication and spunk: She's got it all!" - Jazz Legend David "Fathead" Newman.

The featured artist on Friday July 28th is top 20 finalist from Season 11 of The Voice, Simone Gundy with her show “My Voice.” Kicking off Friday’s show prior to Simone is the winner of DLO's “So You Think You Can Cabaret” competition, Tarnecia Durham in her first Cabaret performance. The competition was designed to encourage and nurture new Cabaret artists.

Closing out the festival this year will be a review show “It's All About the Blues.” Kicking off the night will be national & international blues guitarist, Samuel James. He will also be joined by an all-star band headed up by music director Norman Williams along with vocalists Lee, Kevin Haliburton, Willie Welch ,Calvin Roberts and Stephanie Brehm, will take the audience on a brief history of blues music that is guaranteed to leave them craving for more.

"Cabaret has taken off!! When I started this journey six years ago, very few venues offered this type of entertainment. Now you see the word 'Cabaret' listed on the schedules of several music establishments. We are doing what we set out to do and that's bring entertainers back to the forefront. Allowing them to have a musical exchange with the audience and creating the magic that exist between artist and audience,” stated Ms. Lee.

Each evening will also benefit a different charity organization. The Stewpot, Resource Center and St. Philips School and Community Center. "It's so important to me that we also give back to our community. Bringing awareness to these organizations, encouraging our audience to donate money, volunteer their time or both.”

The Festival will take place at the Women's Building in Fair Park beginning at 7:30 each evening. Enter through Gate 3 and parking is free. The 2nd Annual Dallas Cabaret Festival is free, however, reservations are strongly recommended through Eventbrite. Reservations can be made beginning July 7.
